| Q & A

Why video and not just ask advice by Email
? It is very difficult for a handler to explain
exactly what a situation might be or how things exactly happen and why
. Seeing the dog as well as the handler gives one the opportunity to quickly
give a more correct solution and advice
How long does it take to get my analysis ? Within a week your presentation
will be ready , sooner is more likely depending on my current location and
agility activities.
Does it matter what
type of situation or problem I send you a video from? No not at all, be it a situation that happened at a trial, or
during practice.
My dog stresses out at
some point on the course, can I send a clip ? You surely can. Each behaviour has an individual reason. seeing
it on video will give me a better way of analyzing why this happens and as a
result give you an answer to your personal situation or dog
I really don't have a problem, but I still like to improve
. Don't we all, that's why we train , try out
alternatives. Getting feedback from someone else is one of the most
important things .
I am only a beginner, am
I worthy enough for sending a video ? Yes you
can. We all started as a beginner at some point. We all try to avoid to
struggling through it without advice and help.
This is so cool , so I don't need other lessons or seminars
anymore ? No, practising, attending seminars,
following lessons are still very important in agility. Visual feedback is
also very important as it shows me and you what is actually
happening.
Do you have a lesson plan to
train on a regular basis? I will not give you a
standard lesson plan. Each dog and handler team is different even if problems
seem common. what works for one team does not necesseraly work for another
team. If I give you a follow-up exersice it will be based on your individual
needs.
Why can I only send Max 15 seconds
worth of video ? Video files are very big files
, not everyone has fast internetconnections . The duration of 15 seconds
combined with the right compression is a good balance in quality and
filesize to be able to analyze and for people to send even if you have a
dialup internet connection . There is a lot one can show in a 15 second clip
. As always for special requests contact me first
!
How can I videotape myself
? If you put your camera on a tripod, or even a
table or other secure place you can just let the camera run while you are
doing your exersise. When you transfer to your computer you just take out the
part that shows what is needed. If you are using a digital video camera ,
you can actually put all the important clips back on a clean tape for
reference just as you would on a VCR.
It
all seems so complicated to me to get video on my computer. Its not difficult that al especially once you have everything
prepared on your computer. If after reading through the Video Tech page you still have
some questions, do not hesitate to ask me, I will gladly help you through it
.
It sounds complicated to prepare my video
for sending. It's not complicated at all , that
is also why I propose to use the simple and basic tools together with a
preset configuration for compressing your video. No need for complicated
videoediting software with all its bells and whistles included. The basic
software just does what's needed. Copy your video to your computer and
prepare it for sending.
Why do you say not
to Email the videofootage to you ? To avoid
unexpected long waiting times in receiving your video at times when I also have
only slow connections . Also many of you are not allowed to send emails with
attachments that large . If you can , you can always contact me , if I have
fast access at that moment I can allow you do this. For the same reason I do
not send the presentations attached with the emails . I do not believe anyone
likes to quickly want to check email and get stuck for a long time because
there is a large attachment included.
